What can I expect from a first visit?
Before you arrive, you’ll receive an online intake form asking about your concerns and health history. Filling this out ahead of time will allow us to spend more time getting specific about your issues and questions. Our time together is valuable!
A first visit typically includes assessment of your general posture, breathing patterns, and pelvic mobility or restrictions. Depending on what we find, I could treat specific physical restrictions with gentle hands-on techniques. We will also discuss pelvic anatomy, functions, and how they relate to your specific issue(s). My goal is that you leave with more understanding and hopefully feeling empowered.
I do not usually do any internal pelvic assessment or treatment during the first visit. Based on input from clients and my own instincts, I choose to spend the first session getting to know each other. I hope this allows clients to ask questions and feel more comfortable before doing internal work, if this is indeed indicated. Of course, you are always in control of whether or not we do internal work at all. There are lots of ways to address common pelvic issues, and we always have options.
